What would you do for a Klondike bar? Honestly, probably nothing. I might be singing a different jingle though now that they’ve released new Klondike Kandy Bars along with some 70s food porn.
There is no shortage of candy brands moving into the ice cream game. I already made the Ultimate Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich using Twix and Milky Way, and it was one of my finer creations. Now the ice cream brands are looking to get in on the mashups. I’m surprised it took this long for Klondike add a little funk to their junk, but they’re all in now that they have.
Klondike obviously can’t advertise it, but the flavors are clearly Snickers, Nestle’s Crunch, and the albino blacksheep of the line, Oreo (not a candy bar). Not-Snickers has a layer of caramel and peanuts on vanilla ice cream. Not-Nestle’s has chocolate fudge and not-Rice Krispies on chocolate ice cream, and Not-Snickers has vanilla ice cream, cookies, chocolate fudge, and is coated in white chocolate.
While the flavors are obviously a big upgrade, the biggest change comes in the marketing. They traded in the catchy jingle we all know and love for some smooth 70s porn jams. Check out the commercial. It gives new meaning to “what would you do?” My only problem with it is that the candy bar should obviously be the guy.
