finger1 Skype removes offensive emoticons because they offended people

From now on, the only way to give a person the middle finger on Skype is the old fashioned way — giving them the actual middle finger.

If you’re not videoing skyping, that looks plain stupid, but it’s all you’ve got left because Skype quietly removed all it’s “offensive” emoticons sometime in the last week.

According to TechCrunch — “It turns out, Skype has removed its emoticons for showing people the middle finger, as well as its animations for (wtf), (fubar) and the slightly odd (hollest) emoticon, which displayed a set of women’s legs with high heels.”

Exactly who was offended by a smiley face with a middle finger up is unknown but I’m assuming it’s the same people who write letters about dirty words on network TV and spend days boycotting things in the name of Jesus. So, like, 2% of people using Skype.

But don’t worry Skype users and lovers of smileys, there are still plenty of “offensive” emoticons to choose from — you can moon people, puke on them and even make a sheep take a dump on their screen. God bless America.
