So this is pretty horrifying. Marlins reliever Dan Jennings took a line drive to the head in the 7th inning of last night’s game off the bat of the Pirates’ Jordy Mercer. Jennings stood up to retrieve the ball but was completely disoriented. He was carted off the field and taken to a nearby hospital where CT scans were negative. He did however suffer a concussion.
The line drive was clocked at 101 mph. Have mercy. The Marlins are expected to place Jennings on the disabled list later today.
