Vernon Adams

Following their opening week win, Oregon head over to East Lansing to play Michigan State in their big nonconference game of the season, and they’re not going to be without quarterback Vernon Adams.

The transfer out of Eastern Washington had an impressive start to his career with the Ducks, completing 76% of his passes in the 61-42 win over his former school, throwing for two touchdown passes and rushing for 94 yards.

However, in the fourth quarter he took a late hit which left him on the field for a moment. It got John Kreifels, his former teammate, ejected, while Adams left to the sidelines, but it turned out he did not suffer a concussion.

I’m feeling good; yes, I’ll be out there. I’m very excited. The team we have, we can do a lot of special things this year.

Last season Oregon played Michigan State in Eugene in week 2 as well, beating the Spartans 46-27 which propelled them from being #3 to the #2 spot on the AP rankings. Oregon started out the season at #7 with Michigan State at #5. The results of the first weekend aren’t going to change that.
