The time of Peyton Manning as an elite quarterback is over since last season. His time as a good quarterback is done too. Breaking the all-time passing yards records deserved memes, but getting benched deserved them more.
Manning completed just five passes while getting intercepted four times in a 22-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, with Manning getting destroyed by the Chiefs pass rush, eventually leading to him getting benched.
Gary Kubiak said he did it to protect Manning from getting injured, but the message is clear: The Broncos need a new quarterback, and Manning should have retired last season.
At least he owns yet another regular season record to help us make the easy distinction. Manning is the greatest regular season quarterback of all-time. Tom Brady or Joe Montana? Greatest in the playoffs.
