From the memes that dominated throughout and after the first presidential election debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it’s safe to say most people hate both of them, and would rather see two completely different candidates.

If that assumption is true, then how did these two get voted through the primaries? Was the stock of candidates that bad? Bernie Sanders certainly seemed vote-able, but never managed to rally voters beyond a specific (large) demographic in a way that would help chop Clinton’s feet from under her.

And Trump is the wild card no one expected. I’m not a political or TV expert, but the first debate seemed to expose him as someone who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He didn’t even attack Clinton on her weak spots: Emails, Benghazi, the Clinton foundation. Unprepared, or simply having an off night, I agree with those who said Clinton won it, although it’s far from over yet.

In short, it seems no one is going to win with either of these two sitting in the Oval Office. Besides some jokes about the Steelers and the Atlanta Falcons jerseys, most of the memes were decidated to making fun of both candidates, and how f***** America is either way.
