NBA Scores & Standings

In something of an international night for the NBA, the Denver Nuggets celebrated in London by blowing out the Indiana Pacers. Meanwhile in Mexico, the Dallas Mavericks showed a balanced approach to beat the Suns. On American soil, it was mostly one-sided: The Spurs crushing the Los Angeles Lakers and the Warriors taking off in the second half against the Detroit Pistons.

Indiana Pacers 112  Denver Nuggets 140: It’s safe to say the Nuggets enjoyed their trip to London, scoring 30 points or more in each quarter to blow out the shaky Pacers. Nikola Jokic finished with 22 points and Danilo Gallinari added 18, as the team shot a whopping 57.1% from the field, 46.9% from beyond the arc (15 3’s overall) and 91% from the line. C.J. Miles led the Pacers with 20 points.

New Orleans Pelicans 104  Brooklyn Nets 95: The Nets lost their 8th game in a row to further establish their hold on the bottom of the NBA’s standings. No Anthony Davis, so Terrence Jones, Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday combined to steer the ship with a combined 74 points. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 20 points.

Chicago Bulls 89  New York Knicks 104: No Kristaps Porzingis didn’t stop the Knicks from dominating the sad looking Bulls, led by Carmelo Anthony with 23 points. Derrick Rose finished with 17 against his former team, not letting the $200,000 fine he received for skipping a game and not letting anyone know about affect him. Jimmy Butler didn’t play, Rajon Rondo came off the bench, and Dwyane Wade led the way with 22 points.

Los Angeles Lakers 94  San Antonio Spurs 134: A humbling experience for the Lakers in San Antonio, in a game that got out of hand very quickly. The Spurs shot 47.6% from beyond the arc and 60.5% from the field. Kawhi Leonard was almost unstoppable on 31 points and 10-for-13 from the field, getting 22 points of help from Pau Gasol, who was a perfect 9-for-9.

Dallas Mavericks 113  Phoenix Suns 108: The NBA referees fighting Mark Cuban over his comments didn’t have any effect in this game, with the Mavs coming away with a rare win in Mexico. Deron Williams scored 23 points, Harrison Barnes helped with 22 and Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 points, just like Wesley Matthews, in a rare night for Dallas to see all of their key players doing well at the same time. Devin Booker led the Suns with 39 points, but he was the only one who stood out.

Detroit Pistons 107  Golden State Warriors 127: Like in many Warriors games, things were close up until the third quarter, when the Warriors got into their groove, and never had to start worrying about their fourth quarter troubles. Durant, Curry and Thompson combined to score 72 points while Draymond Green had a bad shooting day, making up for it with 9 rebounds, 13 assists and his usual second half defense that completely changes a game.
