Jason Biggs, who is no stranger to Twitter controversy, cracked a joke immediately after it was learned that Malaysian flight MH-17 had been shot down. Now he’s paying for it.

Here’s the joke that started it all…
Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
Perhaps he knew he was going to start getting flack and wanted to make it clear that he was joking when he followed that tweet up quickly with these…
In all seriousness, tho- HOW DO YOU MISTAKENLY SHOOT DOWN A COMMERCIAL PLANE?! Ugh.
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
It's saddest for the victims and their families, obviously. But Malaysia Airlines is apparently a GREAT airline. Gonna be tough to recover.

Too late…
Hey all you "too soon" assholes- it's a fucking joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all.
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
The idea that I wouldnt have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere.

“@Bobby_Blight: @JasonBiggs I'll be sure to laugh when u suffer a family tragedy.” Please do! I hope I can laugh during my family tragedy 2!
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
Of course not everyone took his joke so seriously as many have now rallied to his defense…
@JasonBiggs keep the funny coming. It in no way was an attack at the people killed in the tragedy. Laughter is lifes natural band aid.

Now he’s taking aim at TMZ for a photo they posted in their story…
Hey @tmz – well done on posting my face next to the wreckage of the plane- you might almost think I actually shot it down!
— Jason Biggs (@JasonBiggs) July 17, 2014
So what do you think? Too soon and in poor taste? Or just someone trying to make light of a bad situation?
