As you all know, Russia is the Florida of the East, and by that I mean it’s the capital of weird news. Today we have a story of a Russian fisherman’s life being saved from a bear attack by the sweet soothing sounds of Justine Beaver’s ‘Baby.’
Given Justine Beaver’s recent escapades along the Mediterranean Sea, we’re not placing any bets that this is the weirdest Justin Bieber related story that’ll come out this week. That being said, I think we’ll all be hard pressed to find one more bizarre than this.
Reports are filtering in that Russian fisherman Igor Vorozhbitsyn was saved from a nearly fatal bear mauling when his phone began to ring, and the bear was started and ran off after hearing Igor’s ringtone set to the tune of Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’.
Yes, Justin Bieber indirectly saved a man’s life from a bear attack.
The NYPost reports:
Igor Vorozhbitsyn was heading to a local fishing spot in northern Russia’s Yakutia Republic when the Bieber-hating bear suddenly appeared and pounced on him, Central European News reports.
The 42-year-old was saved when Bieber’s popular hit song “Baby” started playing on his phone.
“I couldn’t believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled,” Vorozhbitsyn said.
“I know that sort of ringtone isn’t to everyone’s taste, but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke.”Wildlife experts said it was the music’s volume that scared the bear away — not the quality of the music.
The terrible snark belongs to the NYPost, not the Russian fisherman thankful to have his life.
