AstonishingGrippingAruanas Match Highlights Bornemouth vs Liverpool

At least there’s one competition this season which has been kind to Liverpool, blowing by another lower league team, beating Bornemouth 3-1 with a double from Raheem Sterling and the first goal for Lazar Markovic since joining the club, advancing to the semifinal of the competition.

After being knocked out of the Champions League and losing to Manchester United in a less than motivating way, it was nice to bounce back to a competition that’s been easier to weave through considering their rivals and play some very good football until taking the three goal lead before allowing Bournemouth back into the match.

Sterling turned some heads with his new, more basic haircut, and probably stunned some more after scoring the first with his head, being left wide open after a nice cross into the box that exposed the Bournemouth defense.

The second goal came from the same wing and after a couple of misses and Jordan Henderson, clumsily missing the chance to take control of it, it was the young Serbian talent, Lazar Markovic, who finally got on the scoresheet for Liverpool after a disappointing start to the season for him.

The third goal, scored by Sterling, was started by a fine pass from Kolo Toure to Adam Lallana who carried on the move to Sterling, weaving his way by tricking two defenders before providing a great finish, which Brendan Rodgers probably preferred to see at Old Trafford.

Liverpool once again played the striker-less way which is probably more fitting for them while Daniel Sturridge is out. Obviously, a match in Goldsands Stadium doesn’t really make for the same difficulties Premier League teams offer, but any win, especially one that takes you to another stage in a cup competition, is welcome, as Liverpool are getting by on anything that comes their way.
