Before this season began, the Pittsburgh Pirates traded Travis Snider to the Baltimore Orioles. Now that he’s been released by the Orioles, there’s a good chance he ends up playing for the Pirates again.
Snider, a 27-year old outfielder, was disappointing in his 69 games for the Orioles, hitting just .237 and posting a .659 OPS. He hit three home runs with 20 RBIs, and the Orioles traded two minor leaguers for him, but as he hits the finale of his contract and becomes eligible for arbitration, the Orioles preferred to step away from him.
I’m talking with multiple teams, including the Pirates. Hope to have a decision made soon.
Snider has been in the majors since 2008, playing for the Blue Jays until 2012 when he was traded to the Pirates. In Pittsburgh he had a very strong 2014, hitting .264 with 13 home runs and 38 RBIs in a career high 140 games.
