Niles Paul

The Washington Redskins might have won their opening game of the preseason, but with Niles Paul suffering a season ending injury their depth and quality at tight end seriously dwindled, while even the fourth option, Je’Ron Hamm, is out with a thigh injury.

Logan Paulsen might have to go through toe surgery, and Jordan Reed has a hamstring injury at the moment, although he’ll probably be the one making the most of the situation.

So names like Fred Davis and Chris Cooley are being thrown into the air again. The Redskins addressed a lot of needs and problems in the offseason. The tight end position was probably the only one they left out, and now they’re left with one big hole at the position, which mean either signing someone from very slim pickings, or moving someone to the spot and really make the passing game suffer in the meantime.
