There’s no doubt wide receiver Drake Davis is giving recruiters and the colleges interested in him a lot of headaches, but his decision to where he’ll go, probably between his top three choices (LSU, Texas A&M & Ole Miss) will be coming soon.
Davis, playing for IMG Academy and is out of Bradenton, Florida, is the 75th ranked player in his position for the 2016 class. He was planning to announce his decision after a game this weekend (in which he opened with a 90-yard touchdown), but decided to delay it a bit further.
I was going to announce but I don’t want to rush and be immature with my decision. I’m not completely sure where I want to go. I felt rushed … I felt pressured and I haven’t even taken my officials yet, so I want to do those and be completely 100-percent sure of what I want to do. I am planning to go to the LSU vs. Florida game and Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss and I’m not sure of the rest of the visits I will take.
LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, they’ve shown the most interest in me and are on me the hardest. They all fit with what I want to do on the next level as far as offense is concerned. I want to go to a school that fits my education but somewhere that also throws the ball a lot.
Davis actually didn’t play football last year, instead focusing on his basketball career (he’s 6’4, 215 lbs). He changed his mind and has the three SEC West schools in pursuit of his talent, but right now, he’s keeping the cards close to his chest, and will probably let this drag on for as long as possible.
