The You Like That meme dominated following Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins running into a real team and losing, with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers getting their chance to gloat.
For a quarter and a bit, it seemed like the momentum from the regular season would help the Redskins win a playoff game for the first time in 10 years, not to mention beat a team with a winning record. But the You Like That fab died quickly as Aaron Rodgers regrouped, carried the Packers with him and it all ended as one would expect when a mediocre (at best) team like the Redskins play a good opponent.
Robert Griffin III watched as the team he was supposed to lead for years lost their second playoff game in four years with a quarterback from the 2012 class unable to pull through. Things started falling apart for Griffin three years ago in that home loss to Seattle. Cousins, for now, seems like he’s closer to a long term contract, while Griffin is on his way out of the team.
And the Packers? While beating the Redskins pumps some life into their body, filling them with excitement, this means playing against the Arizona Cardinals on the road. A team that destroyed them just a few weeks ago, so there’s not a whole lot to feel optimistic about.
